Thank you to Richard
Tuesday January 6th, 2009
Well, I hope that this new calendar year finds
you all well.
Big breakthrough, with the help of fellow Photographer Richard Vanek, in helping me figure out an issue I was encountering, and leading me to decide how I am going to continue to display the bulk of my previous quarter century of photographs. That way, is similar to how it was this past year in my old Gallery... only now it will be updated and configured to the new website layout and design. Thank you very much to Richard for this help, as well as his very appreciated thoughts and suggestions to me on other aspects of the redesign of the web site here.
A lot of this will be trial and error, seeing what works best, and what doesn't, and adjusting the site to it. Like this here Journal entry, is the first of the year, and the very first using an entirely different method than has been used for the past years of having it up. Will see how it really works, and if it does it well, and simply.
Another thing I have been tossin' around in the ol' noggin', was planted by all the year end things that transpired recently. Namely, year best things, and even more specifically, the year in photos, or, the best photos of 2008. Led me to think what I felt were my best photos taken in the past calendar year, and displaying those in a special little area.
But then I thought, I already do that... that is what my yearly Galleries were, and will continue to be in it's latest named incarnation of the Photo Albums. The selection of photos that I felt were the best, and/or liked the most from that year.
I guess, just my thinking of going through and doing perhaps a severe edit and removal of those images that I don't feel are the cream of the crop of photographs. You see, a good portion of the photos I currently have displayed in the old named Gallery, I may not think they are the best in technical photographic aspects, but I still like them for whatever reason that I may... am attached to them for some sentimental reason or another... and I guess my thinking of if that warrants them being displayed.
I don't know. I guess I will just go through them, and with that mindset of singling out those that really stand out to me right off the bat as being favorites to me, putting them in a pile, and then what may not be chosen in that first pool, seeing if those really need to be displayed on the site. I don't know. Like I said, will see.
Okay, so well, that is it for now, my friends. Again, I hope this first Journal entry of 2009 finds you well, and I wish and hope all the best for you in this coming year.
